For a long while I stopped buying CDs, books and journals. I don’t know why I stopped, maybe I felt a bit burnt out from my Diploma at Portsmouth or maybe I’d just lost interest. Anyway I’ve started buying books again each month. I kind of think this has something to do with getting interested in Architectural Photography. As well as looking at the Architecture I’m constantly scanning the images to see how they have been done, who the Photographer is etc. I set aside a little money maybe £50 – £60 and then buy a few nice books. Emma also has started doing this, she buys four novels a month and aims to read one a week. She calls hers “Brain Food”, I call mine “Eye Candy”. This month I kind of blew my budget a bit but never mind.

I’ve had some scary close shaves but nothing comes close to this.

Since the LCA arrived back from being fixed I’ve put a roll of Kodak Portra VC through it. It hasn’t been amazing weather recently but pretty pleased with the results. I really like the lens on it. Seems to have a nice effect to it and much sharper than I had thought it would be. Here’s a few of my favourites.

This is such a beautiful idea it’s untrue. I was reminded of it by a post on Warrens’s site.

Looking Into The Past, a Flickr pool devoted to combining old photos of locations, buildings, and people with the present day scene. The ones with the most impact have the photographer holding an old photo in front of the camera lined up with features in the scene.

It’s incredible how little some places have changed really. There’s a gallery of some of the best images here. Elliot also noted that you can refine the search in the pool to just London. Not many there yet but hopefully people will take more soon.

Last night I worked late at work and had an awesome ride home with virtually empty roads. This morning I rode to work in the pouring rain but still loved it. No nodders due to the rain and nice and clear roads again. Completely soaked through but after a shower and a coffee I felt great.

This morning I went past a big BMW private hire car who had his left wing mirror tucked in. I gestured that it was in. He then started honking his horn at me! Oops. Thought I’d made him mad and carried on hoping to lose him. Turns out he wanted me to tap it down for him! Smiles all round and a bit of a laugh at the confusion.
