Gardening

Darren and Mandy have been trying to sort their house out so they can sell and get Lilly into a new school. Ed and I got called in to help sort the garden. We started a few weekends ago by digging up the existing grass weed patch, forking it all over, weeding it and getting the worst of the stones out. We then added a concrete edging to one side. That was enough for one day, we came back on Sat to finish the other edging and then lay a nice new lawn. Shame we didn’t get a before shot but Ed and I are pretty pleased with the results.

It’s only small but was a lot of work to get it all tidy.

I think Darren and Mandy are pleased with the results too…

Falmouth

Sitting in my sisters front room reading the paper and watching the world go by. I love this view!

Excuse the poor quality iPhone pic.

Smiler

Nat and Cath were in London this weekend. I met Nat for a drink on Friday and then also had the chance to meet Elsa, their new addition to the family, on the Sat. Here she is, photo taken by Emma.

Back riding the fixed again round town. Love it although riding a lot slower than the road bike. Had a few stop pedalling moments too. Oops.

What have I done?

The weekend before last was Phil and Sacha’s wedding. I took lots of pictures as usual, this is one of my favourites though.

Humour

Sometimes I think that we’re all a little too serious and miserable in our day to day lives. It’s things like this kebab van in Cornwall that really make me smile. What else would you name it?

Here’s my sister Liz modelling in front.

Off to Ireland

After surving the worst landing I have ever had, Emma and I have arrived in sunny Belfast. Off to Derry and then on to Donegal for a few days then back to Belfast for Jane’s 30th.. Think I should be sorted for photo of the day until Tuesday at least!

Låt den rätte komma in 2008 – Let the right one in

Managed to get a bit of a ride in yesterday morning with Gary round the park. Only 40 miles in total but good to get out. Found it quite hard at times so need to get more than just the commute going if I’m going to have any chance of doing the Dunwich this year.

Went into town for a wander afterwards with Emma and saw Let the Right one in at the Haymarket. Was a bit worried that it was going to be hard work with it being subtitled. It’s so beautiful and incredibly shot. The whole film really impressed me. A great take on the whole vampire idea. Watch the trailer below and then go and see it!

Funny like I’m a clown..

Continuing my ‘catching up’ on films I really should have seen years ago, and general film education from Jane and Emma, last night I watched Goodfellas for the first time. Pretty epic for a Tuesday evening but a great film. The best scene is obviously the one below! Heard the quotes from this scene so many times but never actually seen it properly until yesterday. Rocky films next perhaps.
