Battered and bruised

Coming to the end of the week in Scotland with Vaughan, Matt and Gavin. Did the Glentress Black route today along with an hour or so in the freeride park practicing clearing table top jumps. Also did a few shuttles on the singletrack descent on the blue route which was superb.

Few bruises and generally pretty tired. Back home tomorrow for a well earned rest.

The Peaks

Did a fantastic ride around Ladybower Reservoir today in the Peak District. Some incredible scenery and riding. Fantastic weather too. Just in the van to our cottage in Peebles. A long day today nut less driving tomorrow when we head to Glentress to do the red and black routes.

End of the summer

Not that the summer really started this year but this morning was pretty nippy. Had to wear a thin fleece on the way to work. Ah well, hopefully lots of nice chilly winter rides coming up.

Away next week but moving in to a new flat with Emma the following week. Should be a busy weekend but well worth it. Looking forward to finally not sharing a flat. Happy days.

New bike just ordered

Popped in to Condor this lunchtime on Grays Inn Road to have another look at the road bike I wanted. Filled out the forms for the cyclescheme and got the voucher on order. Can’t wait to get this thing, went for the one with the 105 groupset. Back up to four bikes now. Oops. Will see whether the fixed stays around but it might hang out in the loft for a while.

Looking forward to getting a few longer rides in soon. Few achievements to do, ride around the I-O-W, do some long rides around Surrey / Kent – 60 miles plus, finally do the Dunwich Dynamo!

Flying visit to South of France

Got back late last night from a flying trip to France. Left early Friday morning and got back late on Sunday evening. Very impressed with the journey on the TGV.

The place we stayed was fantastic. Right on the sea and had access to a little shared rocky cove where you could go swimming from. Lots of sun, sea, good food and wine! Hopefully will be back next year.
