Berms, tables, rain and photographs

Went out to Swinley yesterday with Gav and a few of the guys from Chocolatefoot. Was a bit wet an soggy due to all the rain during the week. Did a few of the trails on Surrey Hill with the berms and tables in. Brilliant fun. Dom brought his camera and also his flash so spent a fair bit of time playing around with that and composing shots. His pictures are on his Flickr page and one of them is below. Ended up taking the Kobe out for the first time in 6 months. Felt pretty weird at first after riding a full suss for so long but started to really enjoy it towards the end. Looking forward to getting a flash and playing around lighting shots. A few of my pictures with the compact are here.

a new project

Seeing as 2009 is rapidly approaching I started thinking about a new photography challenge. I’ve seen some of the people on Flickr who take a picture each day for a year, some are terrible and some are great. The terrible ones are just people taking a picture of themselves each day. Boooring. Thinking I might try and set up a new Flickr account just for this on the 1st Jan 2009.

For Daisy

My £500 car has done me well since I got her 3 years ago after a crash. So I gave her a hoover and took some pictures. Just for a laugh like. Here’s to another 3 years.

Finally famous! Got my first image published in Dirt.

15 minutes of fame

You can imagine my excitement when they said they were using my image.. You can imagine my disappointment when I saw the size of it!

Ha. Ah well you have to start somewhere I guess.

Panning

Been reading quite a lot from Seb Rogers recently on what to do to get good riding shots. Been trying to get panning sorted and take the camera off the Program mode. Started trying to take shots at 1/60sec and pan with the rider to get the background blurred and the sense of motion rather than stop the action.
