Architecture London Rant

Alex Breton Consultants

Somehow this firm of stupid recruitment consultants managed to get hold of my details. After a few phone calls asking if I wanted a job I asked to be removed from their contact database. Still more emails.. Then I asked again and got a very polite reply from a lady who had originally called me, which I thought would be the end of it… Unfortunately not. More emails from them. It would be ok if the emails were a little more carefully phrased or even a little creative, but the tripe they come out with is utter rubbish!

4th time lucky being removed from their database. What a bunch of chancers.

Dear All

I think we are all feeling the way the market is at the moment – However we still have jobs on Health Care, Education, Rail and today I picked up a job on Aviation – so in short Public Funded projects.

If you are interested in Healthcare, Education, Rail or Aviation projects, then please get in touch, as clients / companies are letting people go what seems to be at a very rapid pace within Housing, residential, mixed use and retail sectors.

I dont believe we need to panic – but if you are feeling the heat and want to secure something else then send me an upto date cv with samples – but you must remember it will be put forward for the above projects.  Obviously if you have relevant sector experience then it would be easier….

I hope to hear from you all

Kind regards

Alex Breton Consultants

Anyway, I’m very happy in my current job! I wonder if their clients know how much they pester people?

Update: So I poked around their website a bit and they even have a recommend a friend section! Woo. Sounds like they’re desperate for work.

Not sure if this was the kind of service they were suggesting when they wrote this? ..prides our self in offering a very different approach to the common problems faced within the industry

For info. If you want to get a job in architecture through a recruitment consultants – use RIBA Appointments!

Emma loves her new bike

Spent a weekend riding around London with Emma trying to get her comfortable with riding to work. Followed the 22 cycle route to London Bridge from Peckahm.

Glad she likes riding her new bike so much. Three cheers for the cycle to work scheme.

For Daisy

My £500 car has done me well since I got her 3 years ago after a crash. So I gave her a hoover and took some pictures. Just for a laugh like. Here’s to another 3 years.

A walk to Super Fish…

Got bored of cleaning last night so decided to go for a bit of a wander. As soon as I got outside there was this amazing sunset over the London Eye. Incredible and looked at though the sky was on fire.

Sky

By the time I walked there it was pretty much gone and it ended up just looking overcast and cloudy which still made for a good picture. I think I probably have enough pictures of the London Eye for now though.

The wheel

Then the inevitable rain came. Last few shots then off to get Fish and Chips at Super Fish. Read a few bits on contract law and had a few Peroni’s. Sweet.
