Jewsons lorry PN08 NHJ
After a beautiful ride last night what better way to ruin it that to have to witness some atrocious driving from a Jewsons lorry reg PN08 NHJ. Apparently he wasn’t happy for cyclists to be holding him up in the morning. We’d been sat at lights for a while and he’d always been behind, revving, getting to close to my and other cyclists rear wheel. Not content with that he decided to do a dodgy manoeuvre round the right of me, blarring his horn and then cutting in even further almost killing the three cyclists in front. This was made worse by the fact that he was desperate to wedge his way through some road works and beat the lights. There’s barely enough room for a car and bike on the stretch of roadworks on Euston Road at the moment but sure enough he forced himself and his massive lorry in there.
Funnily enough he didn’t get very far and got caught at the next lights with all of us cycling past him. Why bother almost killing three people just for that? Sure enough I asked him why he was driving like that? His answer – “I was tooting at the other three not you”. Oh that makes sense then.
So normally whenever I witness or am subject to something like this it happens with someone who has their company logo written all over. So I call up, politely explain and ask if they could have a word. The person on the other end usually says “Would you like us to call you back with the outcome”, yes I say but not once has any of these companies called back so here I am trying to deal with it through the internet. I used to fill out the Cycle Safe form on the Met’s website but gave up after nothing ever came of it.
Not much fun when someone in a lorry is being a tool and you’re close by to get in their way. Here’s the pics of the lorry in question which is a fair old chunk of metal really.

Updated: So it seems the best way of getting someone’s attention is to use their Facebook page rather than Twitter. Far less easy for them to ignore. That is until they post bullshit boiler plate text like this. I give up.
