Architecture Inspiration

Need some design inspiration?

Another “I found this on Twitter” post but that’s where all the cool kids are these days I guess.

So I stumbled across this collection of images which is probably one of the best Tumblr pages I’ve seen so far (most are a bit crap in my opinion). The theme really works and doesn’t get in the way which helps massively. It’s full of amazing images from the usual suspects of design based websites (Dezeen, ArchDaily, DesignBoom etc) but it’s nicely curated (except they included boxpark) and shows an enormous amount of content in a simple effective way. Lots of ideas and nice to scan through for a few mins or even longer. I had toyed with using this same theme to collect any images I found but I’m not sure I could match this.

Go and have a good poke around – SheLostCtrl.

With Associates – November

With Associates have completed their November update to their redesign-our-site-once-a-month thing. The end result is great as usual but also sad to see our efforts for October go.

However the thing that’s far more interesting to me is the behind the scenes or process that goes into it. A fairly ambitious 4 hours was set to do the whole thing and again was recorded with a timelapse which fittingly is four minutes long.

And here’s a few more images from their Flickr set.

Paul Saunders Sculpture

Emma and I went over to see Jane (her cousin) and husband Paul yesterday. They’ve got a nice little flat which happens to have a basement, perfect for Paul’s sculpture work. I guess welding kit doesn’t look to great in the living room!

Paul has some great work and I’ve offered to do him a blog and get his work shot and up on Flickr and generally help with some publicity. Would be great to see him getting into some galleries round London – he’s had a few offers already. There were also some amazing bronze works and also a superb cast aluminium one. He’s also got some great ideas about making his work more interactive and getting graffiti artists involved with his pieces.

Here’s one of the pieces we saw yesterday.
