House Bierings by Rocha Tombal
I’ve not paid an enormous amount of attention to the Architecture journals recently as there hasn’t really been much that’s caught my eye. I’ve also wanted to leave work at work and concentrate on Part 3 and Photography when outside of work. However Neil Mac sent this link round the other day. I must admit that I’m completely awestruck by how beautiful and well detailed it is. Maybe I’ll start being a bit more interested if I see more things like this.

Beautiful ‘perhaps’, but the detailing is shocking!! After a year of rain it’ll look like a piece of crap.
Even in the “finished so quick get in the architectural photographer” photo’s in the link, you can see the water staining starting on the timber cladding. There’s a complete lack of understanding of how timber behaves and weathers, even of how buildings weather. ARCHITECTURE is not the same thing as ART. I would be interested to know how it is constructed under the “timber wallpaper”…Looks like a 2 minute sketch-up model to me.
I knew you’d take offence to this one.
